For beginner piano students, choosing appropriate songs impacts the learning experience during piano lessons and practice at home. In my 12+ years of teaching, I’ve compiled a couple lists of piano songs that my students love to play.

  4. Clocks- Coldplay
  5. All of Me- John Legend.

These songs have been worldwide hit songs for kids and adults.

Popular Piano Songs for Adults

For adults, I would suggest the same classical songs for adults as for children as I found that those are well liked regardless of age.

However, adults are more inclined to learn songs that they listen online during their personal time.  So if they enjoy listening to jazz, they will want to learn a simple jazz song. One that I recommend would be ‘What a Wonderful World’ by Louis Armstrong. More often I have students who want to learn popular hit songs like ‘All of Me’ by John Legend, or Adele’s ‘Hello’, or ‘My Heart Will Go On’ from Titanic.

A selection of songs are much broader and diverse with adult beginner songs depending on the taste of the student.
